Have you ever told yourself how you would be a certain way if conditions were different?  “If I had this money, I’d be…”  If I grew up with this kind of family, I’d be…”  Yadda yadda yadda and the list goes on.  You know how it is.  We do it all the time.  And if you watch commercial television, you know that unless you have the right __________, you basically stink as a human being,  You can’t really be you unless you have what you “need”.   New car = You’re cool.  Nice clothes = you’re trustworthy. New house = You made it.  None of those things = You’re less than the you God created.

Now I am going to tell you the facts.  God is unconditional being.  That means that we are too.  When we define and confine who we are and will be to ideal conditions then we are being less than the who God has created us to be.  Do you remember what it say in Genesis?  “Let Us create humanity in Our image”. Do you think God’s saying, “I’ll be me when humans get it together and know Me as I am.”  Absolutely not!  Like God said to Moses when he was dropping excuses like they were hot potatoes.  “I am that I am”.  We are who we are now!  We don’t need the right conditions to be us.  We have always been who we are.  Like  God said to Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in your mother’s womb, I knew you.”  Who is the You God knows?  That’s the question we need to ask ourselves.  I bet the me that God knows is the unconditional me.  Are you willing to be the unconditional you?
