Christ Is In the Crisis With Us

Lately I’ve been thinking about the evolution of my relationship with Christ and wondering what’s next for us. So many of us think of Jesus as a kind of super hero that can save the day, but ultimately we can’t relate to. But I doubt that’s how he sees himself. I imagine he would like to be known as a friend who will get down in the trenches with you because he’s been there too.

Einstein said, “We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them”.  However, most of the time we try to do that very thing.  When I talk to people about my thoughts on Christ, it is generally from the point of view that Christ is an open invitation and access to better thinking about what is possible as children of God (Light, Life, Truth).  I’ve noticed that we often only invite what Christ represents into our lives when we come to the edge of our own understanding and coping skills. Somehow, some way many of us have this notion that we can’t get to know Christ until we get our junk together not realizing that the power of the Christ that Jesus manifests is right in the midst of that junk.
