When I was a pastor, I used to tell folks that in this life the challenge is to hold grief in one hand and joy in the other. That’s what this song below is.
This is what Love offers.
Some folks will appreciate this song. I love you.
Some folks will hate this song. I love you.
Some will be critical. I love you.
Some will ignore this song’s core message. I love you.
Some will be critical of me. I love you.
I will be the first to tell you that I have no idea what I am doing with my life. But, whatever I do or don’t do is because, whether I made it up or not, I believed that God loves me and that I have to do my best to love others with the same love that I received.
But love is not always soft and passive. Sometimes love says,
“Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.” 1 John 4:20
I am calling a lot of us Christians out on our lies because Where Love Goes, So Will I.
This is not offered in judgment. As I said, it is a plea. We can do better. I still believe that even when I don’t have a reason to. It’s called faith.
