In the above video, my wife and I talk about seeing miracles in the mundane. The fact is that everything about life is a miracle. But what happens is that we get out of tune with the miraculous reality that really is. We take life for granted and for get that everything is extra-ordinary. I mean, what is ordinary anyway? Really. Ordinary is just some unimaginative idea of how things are “supposed” to be. It’s trying to find safety in predictability. We make the world ordinary so that we don’t have to be afraid of surprises. But then we say we want miracles. If we really want to welcome miracles in our lives, I suggest that we start by admitting that we don’t know as much as we tell ourselves we do. There is newness all around us. All we have to do is go out there with a child’s mind and see the freshness that is actually there. Give it a shot. I dare you to go out there today and look at everything you see for the first time. If you can do it, you’ll see that miracles abound.
