Dedicated to the True Person of Whitney Houston
If you’ve been hanging out here lately you might see a theme emerging. ย But in case you aren’t catching on, here’s what’s going on. ย I’ve been talking a lot about loving ourselves. ย Why? ย Well, I have come to the point where I think that our inability to love ourselves is what is the fastest way to healing the appearance of a destructive world. ย As I get better at articulating exactly what I mean by saying “love yourself”, you are likely to hear more on the subject. ย Another thing I’ve talked about lately is the manifestations of loving ourselves and not loving ourselves. ย In my most recent post, This Is Bully Shift I go so far as to say that loving ourselves is the best way to dissolve the false power that bullies wield. ย Other posts that speak on ways to dissolve this energy can be found in my post about Bronies. ย That one speaks to surrounding yourself with people who love and accept you rather than seeking approval from people who are too lazy to try to see where you are coming from. And the post called Coming Out of the Dark gives exercises to tap into this Love I am talking about. ย If you are curious about why ย am all into this, it is because I am igniting a “love yourself” revolution. ย As ย said in the video, I think that without loving ourselves, there’s no chance of really loving God or our neighbors.
The Greatest Commandment
34ย When the Pharisees heard that he had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together,35ย and one of them, a lawyer, asked him a question to test him.ย 36ย โTeacher, which commandment in the law is the greatest?โย 37ย He said to him, โโYou shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.โย 38ย This is the greatest and first commandment.ย 39ย And a second is like it: โYou shall love your neighbor as yourself.โย 40ย On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.โ
I’ve gotten to the point where I’m no longer going to coddle people who believe it is possible to love God and yet hate themselves or others. ย They can disagree with me, but they will definitely know where I stand on this. ย Does loving someone mean you must understand and agree with them in everything? ย No. ย It simply means this. “Do unto others as you would have them to unto you.” ย Which by the way is also contingent upon loving yourself.
1 John 3:14-16
14ย We know that we have passed from death to life because we love one another. Whoever does not love abides in death.ย 15ย All who hate a brother or sisterย are murderers, and you know that murderers do not have eternal life abiding in them.ย 16ย We know love by this, that he laid down his life for usโand we ought to lay down our lives for one another.
1 John 4:20
Those who say, โI love God,โ andย hateย theirย brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love aย brotherย or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen.
